10 things you might want in the Xbox Live update but forgot to announce…

With the Xbox Live Update knocking on our doors at 4th dec. it came to my mind what i forgot to mention what i really wanted to have inside this update.

You know the feeling, when you know ok, now it is definatly too late to talk about stuf you want to see in the next update.

I made a list, for myself to remind me, showing me everything i want to see in the next update.

1. Chat Pad Short cuts | i mean how awsome would it be if you had the chance to answer the message that you got via the press of a hot key, or maybe to del a message right after you have read it?
2. Disabling notifications via dashboard in game | have you ever played Lumines Live or any other game that needed all you attention, and then someone on you Friendlist went online and all you attention is drawn to this? Or maybe you just recorded a tutorial Video how people can score 100 legit Kills in Halo3 in your way without dying and then someone got online and you got Headshot killed. Guys, if this happend once you know what i mean 🙂
3. MultiMemberChats | come on this is possible… we all know.
4. Video Chat | working 🙂
5. Creating your Own Dashboard Themes | Ok, there is chit chat about “Video playback” Dashboard Themes, with sound and all that… but do you really belief this gets into for you to be edited?

Eidos announced sequel to Deus Ex

Whow,

Eidos told that they are actually programming the next sequel to the Mega, and everything-changing Game Deus Ex.

After they, have creating Deus Ex 2 they had to make this announcement if any of the Devs really wanted to get into Gaming Heaven.

Eidos just did not tell anything about the System this game will be released, but i am , sure i will be owning the system at the release date of the game, no matter what it is.

I am happy.

ESRB´s today updated list revealed the two games “TRON” and “Prince of Persia” are newly listed in their database, which was often before confirmation for an appearing on the Live Arcade Marketplace.

Lets hope for better Graphics on both….

New Xbox Live Arcade Titles announced for this Summer…

… in an Interview with IGN today SNK USA president Ber Herman said there will be old SNK Games available on the Xbox Live Marketplace this Summer. Some of these games set for release are games which retailed for about 200$ for about 17 years ago – if this is not a hint, the damage for each should be around 800 and 1200 Microsoft Points.

Herman did not exactly told IGN, what games will be released, but he said

“we are looking for games that haven’t been available“

But dont be on fire, all you geeks out there, and await a KOF or a Metal Slug with leaderboards and online gaming, because he also said

“so we’re looking for games that haven’t been available to be more attractive to users when we first launch. If we had a chance to bring out two games for our first month I wouldn’t want it to be King of Fighters ’94 and Metal Slug 1. That wouldn’t be the plan. We have 120 different Neo Geo titles… there’s plenty to select from.“

I think, games like “Garou Mark of the Wolves”, or “Kizuna Encounter” for about 4 bucks would be nice, because these are games that really “haven´t been available”… and with a online Mode, wow, i really thought about to train my body not to need sleep anymore…

Ok, the patch is out, and chances are high some of the glitches which made this game so unfair when it was pre patch, are out too. But the answer is “NO”. I will show you now a couple of youtube videos which were taken after the patch and show some old glitches that are still working after the patch and some new glitches the patch enabled. a lot of people seem to have problems with downloading the new Map pack from Xbox Live which Bungie released today for their hit selling shooter “Halo 2”. I was having a lot of problems myself, but anyway, I got them solved…

First you have to know some facts about this Map Pack…

• It is not available from the Marketplace on your Xbox 360
• You can not buy it with your purchased “Microsoft Points”
• You have to have a valid Credit Card
• You have to have this Credit Card attached to you Xbox Live Account
• You need to be a gold member, because you are using the old Halo 2 mechanism to download this map pack, and this will handle your silver membership as an “Error”, this old system does not know about silver membership and nobody has told it about… So it handles you as a “No Member”…
• Recheck if you have a valid Credit Card attached to your Live Account…

So now to how to solve the downloading problems people seem to have while downloading them to the storage of their Xbox 360. First you have to know the Xbox 360 handles downloaded packets in a different way the old Xbox did, so the “catch” (the orange line informing you about the downloading Progress) is not correct. The Xbox handles these packets correct, but the catch line is not software created but hardware created. The server tells the hardware there is content to be downloaded, then the software is showing you that you can download the content and you accept to download it – then the hardware asks the server how big this pack is in the end. After that the hardware will start its calculations of the line from the information it has just recieved, for this info will now be asked by the software, and the software at least is calculating the progress bar (the “catch line”, remember the orange line). But the Software doesn’t know about the xbox 360, and thinks it is run from a regular Xbox. It also doesn’t know about the difference in handling packets received from the server of the Xbox 360, that is in the end calculating the “progress bar”. Once this “progress bar” reaches its 100%, it thinks you have downloaded the packet, which you haven’t and this is causing you serious problems, yeah you are right – the ones you have…

So what can you do? This is easy…

You already have your console on with Halo 2 in …[haha, just kidding] you have checked, but you need to have checked all above mentioned things and then you are good to go for the following

• Start the download, answer the question about the price you have to pay with “yes”
• The download starts
• From now on till the end you have to press the “X” button about 10-30 times according to how fast your download rate is
• Pressing “X” returns you to the “Content Download Overview” screen, just press “A” again, to just start from where you have left off.
• Doing this makes your Console recalculate the Cache Bar again, and this is the solution to the download problem.
• It’s important that you watch out to pause the download just before it finishes, so that the already downloaded amount of packets can be correctly calculated.
• But don’t forget to do this also during the whole downloading process, this will lower the risk of packets being wrong calculated.

As Bungie just announced the new “Halo 2” Map Pack is available now to download from the xbox Live Marketplace. The new Map Pack contains 2 new maps ready to be played in Halo, Tombstone and Desolation. These Maps are remakes from the very popular Maps, “Hang Em High” and “Derelict”.

People who don’t have a creditcard wont be able to download the maps, currently the only payment options available are credit cards, no chance for Microsoft Points users.

Shadowrun Demo to hit the Marketplace soon…

Fasa Studio Manager Mitch Gitelman stated in an Interview that a Demo of Shadowrun should be found soon on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

“We’ve already almost got the demo to where we want it, in terms of shipping and stuff. We just haven’t tested the demo yet because we’re testing the game.”

Mitch went on to reveal that the Demo will fell a little different from what the Beta feels like today, but did not want to specify more closly, when asked if it would be released before or after the Halo 3 Beta is released, he only said, it could be that the game ships right after the beta is released.

Maybe the Xbox 360 is scratching discs, Microsoft said.

In a statement gave in the Dutch TV Show “Kassa” a PR person of Microsoft said it might be that our console can scratch some discs. The TV show then ran a few test that made Microsoft think about their statement again and made them start their own testings. Lets hope that they will get positiv test about this, because there are lots of people out there that are telleing nightmarish stories about bad looking discs after comming out of the mouth of the Xbox…

Gears of War Petition against non Patched Glitches and no Achievements on Annex

This Petition is ment to help Gamers make their voices heard, Gears of War is such a great Game and such a Masterpice that it is a sacrileg to not try to make it to what it could be. Maybe the folks at Epic dont see, what needs to be done and maybe we can help em.

Dear Epic Games,

I am signing this petition as a gamer and as well as a customer who bought this Game to have fun and joy with every part of the Game. This is what makes me sign this petition, the problems and glitches that remained “post patch” are still that high that is nearly impossible to have true uncolored Ranked lists, at the end of this Petition you will find youtube videos of so far discovered glitches, that disturb the gameplay as well it hinders every player who has the ambitions to play fair.

What i ask for when i sign this petition is:

1: Give players the Chance to Vote against cheating players while playing online
2: A new patch, that covers Glitches that give unfair Players an advantage before Fair players
3: To change the Achievement describtions for every Online Achievement, from “Kill 100 enemies in ranked matches with…” to “Kill 100 enemies in ranked matches (exept Annex) with…”
3.1 Change the Rules for Annex so the Achievements and the Kills count
4: Import Clan support into ranked Multiplayer Matches, GOW pro gaming Scene has evolved to a state where it only can grow bigger with better Clan support, form the Software itself.
